\"\"<\/a>Being a talented Athlete<\/strong> isn\u2019t always glamorous!\u00a0 Getting the Gold Medal<\/strong> in the 100m<\/strong> or the Long Jump<\/strong> ends with the conclusion of the meet, most of the time.\u00a0 In order to advance to the Regional<\/strong> and National<\/strong> levels often takes the work of Fundraising<\/strong>.\u00a0 Unfortunately, many Athletes like to avoid such, thinking that someone else should just write a check, without them even asking, so that their time is spent on the \u201cskills\u201d!<\/strong>\u00a0 \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

For Jah-sir Boyd<\/strong> (Pictured Left<\/em><\/strong>), from the Country Mills Eagles Athletic Club<\/strong>, the Fundraising<\/strong> process was indeed taxing, but he willingly invested the time, so that his first trip to the National Junior Olympics<\/strong> could become a reality!\u00a0 For almost an entire day, Jah-sir helped to Separate<\/strong>, and then Return<\/strong>, several bags of Plastic Bottles<\/strong>, Aluminum Cans<\/strong>, and Glass Bottles<\/strong>, to help raise some of the necessary Funds<\/strong> for the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> to attend this annual event, which is the culmination of the Outdoor Track & Field Season<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

More than 20 Country Mills Eagles Athletes<\/strong> qualified for the National Junior Olympics<\/strong> in Ypsilanti<\/strong>, MI<\/strong>, covering several events, such as the 100m<\/strong>, 200m<\/strong>, 800m<\/strong>, 100m HH<\/strong>, 110m HH<\/strong>, 400m IH<\/strong>, High Jump<\/strong>, Long Jump<\/strong>, Shot Put<\/strong>, Discus Throw<\/strong>, Javelin Throw<\/strong>, and the 4 x 100m Relay<\/strong> (in three (3) age divisions).\u00a0 \u201cThis is the largest number of Athletes we have qualified for the National Junior Olympics\u201d<\/strong>, notes Head Track & Field Coach, Anthony Mills.\u00a0 He continues, \u201cWe are excited about attending several events at the 2017 National Junior Olympics, as we have never before qualified so many Athletes in the \u2018Track\u2019 events.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
