\"\"\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There was a time when folks from the Northeast<\/strong> headed West <\/strong>due to rumors of Gold<\/strong> being discovered.\u00a0 For the Country Mills Eagles Track & Field Team<\/strong>, they just headed South<\/strong> to NYC<\/strong> where Gold<\/strong> was abundant all weekend at the AAU Region I Track & Field Championships<\/strong>.\u00a0 With temperatures in the 90\u2019s<\/strong>, and more than 1,400 Athletes<\/strong>, it wasn\u2019t easy, but the Eagles<\/strong> dug deep and found that their Hard Work<\/strong> paid off.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is probably the most dominating our Team has ever been at such a Qualifying Meet!\u201d<\/strong> exclaimed Head Track & Field Coach, Anthony Mills.\u00a0 He continues, \u201cAn example of that is the fact that our Athletes took four (4) Gold Medals out of five (5) Javelin Events in which we had Athletes!\u201d <\/strong>\u00a0Moreover, he noted that one of the biggest Goals<\/strong> for this Track & Field Championship<\/strong> was for the Bantam Boy\u2019s 4 x 100m Relay Team<\/strong> to break under a minute.\u00a0 They came dangerously close with a time of 1:00.38<\/strong>, but they did manage to beat the rest of the field by more than 2<\/strong> seconds!<\/p>\n

April Fredericks, who has two (2)<\/strong> of her Boys<\/strong> on the Relay Team<\/strong>, noted, \u201cWe are so impressed with the progress that these Boys have made in just a couple short months.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 She adds, \u201cTheir first time as a Relay Team was over 1:03.00, so it is GREAT to see them come so close to breaking under 1 minute.\u00a0 We are certain that they will do that at the Liberty Games!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> collected a total of 17 Medals<\/strong>, and they are as follows:<\/p>\n

Gold \u2013 9<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Silver \u2013 6<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bronze \u2013 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gold Medals:<\/strong>\u00a0 Jah-sir Boyd (Triathlon & Turbo Javelin); Sinai Fredericks (Shot Put); AJ Fredericks (Triathlon); Alana Burden (Javelin); Arianna Mills (Long Jump & Javelin); Felina DeThomasis (Javelin); Bantam Boys 4 x 100m Relay Team<\/p>\n

Silver Medals:<\/strong>\u00a0 Sinai Fredericks (Triathlon & Shot Put); Anthony Bethel Boykin (Shot Put); Aiden Sanders (Shot Put & Discus); Alana Burden (Discus)<\/p>\n

Bronze Medals:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ava Weiss (80m HH); TJ King (Triathlon)<\/p>\n
