Presidents Open Track Meet<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Since Eagles <\/strong>are \u201cdiurnal\u201d<\/strong>, they hunt during the day, because they sleep at night.\u00a0 And, keep in mind, Eagles<\/strong> are \u201cApex Predators\u201d<\/strong>, which means that they are at the Top<\/strong> of the Food Chain!<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a\u00a0 When it comes to Track & Field<\/strong>, though, Eagles<\/strong> are \u201cHunting\u201d<\/strong> for PR\u2019s<\/strong>, Medals\/Ribbons<\/strong>, and Records!<\/strong>\u00a0 At the President\u2019s Open<\/strong> @ Ichabod Crane High School<\/strong>, they were NOT<\/strong> deterred from their nature!<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0To get right to the Hunting Form<\/strong>, these Eagles<\/strong> will have NO Problem<\/strong> killing their Food<\/strong>, as several of the Athletes<\/strong> set PR\u2019s <\/strong>in their Javelin Throw<\/strong>, such as Alana Burden<\/strong>, who also set a new President\u2019s Open Record<\/strong> for the Girl\u2019s<\/strong> (17-18) Javelin<\/strong> with a heave of 32.65m<\/strong>, breaking the previous Record<\/strong> set by Amanda Pasko of 31.38m<\/strong> in 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Some Families<\/strong> are just Good Hunters<\/strong>, and so Jah-sir Boyd<\/strong> (Alana\u2019s Brother) took 1st<\/sup> Place<\/strong> in the Boy\u2019s<\/strong> (13-14) Javelin<\/strong> with a toss of 18.95m<\/strong>, as well as 1st<\/sup> Place<\/strong> in the Long Jump<\/strong> (4.27m).<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But it was the youngest Eagle <\/strong>of the Family<\/strong>, Jae-cion Boyd<\/strong>, who took a Clean Sweep<\/strong> of his three (3) Events<\/strong>, placing 1st<\/sup><\/strong> in the Boy\u2019s<\/strong> (9-10) 100m<\/strong> (15.03), 1st<\/sup><\/strong> in the 400m<\/strong> (1:17.73), and 1st<\/sup> <\/strong>in the Long Jump<\/strong> with a leap of 4.05m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Ryan Slingerland<\/strong> set a PR<\/strong> in the Boy\u2019s<\/strong> (17-18) 800m <\/strong>with a time of 2:26.61<\/strong>, as well as a PR<\/strong> in the Javelin<\/strong> with a toss of 33.10m<\/strong>, which was good for 2nd<\/sup> Place<\/strong>, but not enough to overcome Tobias Jeralds, who took 1st<\/sup> Place<\/strong>.\u00a0 That noted, Ryan<\/strong> just started working on the Javelin Throw<\/strong> a month ago, and Tobias <\/strong>has been throwing since he was 12<\/strong>.\u00a0 There is LOTS <\/strong>of room for Ryan<\/strong> to improve before the end of the 2022 Track & Field Season<\/strong>, and 40m+ is in his sights!<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In the Girl\u2019s<\/strong> (15-16) 100m Dash<\/strong>, Berlinda Fleurimond<\/strong> took 1st<\/sup> Place<\/strong> (14.16), and did the same in the 200m<\/strong> (28.64).\u00a0 She is also the Lead Leg<\/strong> of the Girl\u2019s 4 x 100m Relay<\/strong>, which set a Country Mills Eagles Record<\/strong> of 55.02<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The eldest Eagle<\/strong>, competing on this day, is Anthony Mills Jr.<\/strong>, who set a President\u2019s Open Record<\/strong> in the Men\u2019s<\/strong> (30-34) Javelin<\/strong> with a throw of 50.60m<\/strong>, breaking the previous Record <\/strong>of 48.71m<\/strong> that he set back in 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
