\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Each year, the Track & Field Season<\/strong>\u00a0is made up of four (4) Developmental Meets,<\/strong>\u00a0two (2) Qualifying Meets<\/strong>, and two (2) Championship Meets<\/strong>.\u00a0 To date, the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> have competed in the first three (3) Developmental Meets<\/strong> (Patriot\u2019s Invitational<\/strong>, Constitution Classic<\/strong>, President\u2019s Open<\/strong>), all of which are meant to allow the Team<\/strong> to prepare for their first Qualifying Meet<\/strong> (Adirondack District Championships<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The Adirondack District Championships<\/strong> is the first Qualifying Meet<\/strong> in a series of Meets<\/strong>, of which will eventually lead to the National Track & Field Championships<\/strong> in Greensboro<\/strong>, NC<\/strong>.\u00a0 However, the first step is to \u201cQualify\u201d<\/strong> to advance to the Region I Championships<\/strong> in New Haven<\/strong>, CT<\/strong>.\u00a0 In 2022<\/strong>, the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> had each Athlete \u201cQualify\u201d<\/strong> in a minimum of one (1) Event<\/strong>.\u00a0 According to Head Coach<\/strong> Anthony Mills, \u201cThis may be one of the most talented Track & Field Teams we have had since Country Mills Eagles Track & Field began in 2001.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 It may be a bit early to determine that, at this point of the season, as this is only the halfway point, but anything is possible.<\/p>\n

Nicholas Cenci<\/strong>, new to Track & Field<\/strong> in 2022<\/strong>, qualified in all three (3)<\/strong> of his Events<\/strong> taking 2nd<\/sup> Place<\/strong> in both the 200m Dash<\/strong> and the Javelin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Marissa Fiacco<\/strong> had a BUSY Day<\/strong>, as she contested the entire Heptathlon<\/strong> in one (1) Day<\/strong>, instead of the two (2) Days<\/strong> over which it is usually contested.\u00a0 In addition, she competed in the Open 400m<\/strong>, and is also a valuable part of the 4 x 100m Relay<\/strong>, and the 4 x 400m Relay<\/strong>.\u00a0 For the first time since 2005<\/strong>, there is a New Record Holder<\/strong> in the Girl\u2019s (15-16) Heptathlon!<\/strong>\u00a0 Congratulations <\/strong>on your Record<\/strong> of 2,622 points!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Qualifying<\/strong> in the Triple Jump<\/strong> was Julia Melchior<\/strong> taking the Bronze Medal<\/strong>.\u00a0 She is also a part of the 4 x 400m Relay Team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jae-cion Boyd<\/strong> had a BANNER Day<\/strong> as he swept Gold Medals<\/strong> in every Event<\/strong> in which he participated (100m<\/strong>, 200m<\/strong>, Long Jump<\/strong>, Triathlon<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The youngest Member<\/strong> of the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong>, Xavier Luciano<\/strong>, qualified in the 400m Dash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also new to Track & Field<\/strong> in 2022<\/strong> is George Krause<\/strong>, but he is quickly carving out his own space, as he qualified in the High Jump, Long Jump<\/strong>, and the 800m Run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the first time since 2018<\/strong>, an Eagle<\/strong> qualified in the Steeplechase<\/strong>.\u00a0 Ryan Slingerland<\/strong> is looking to step into the Running Shoes<\/strong> of former Country Mills Eagles Steeplechaser<\/strong>, Henry Goca<\/strong>, who took the Silver<\/strong> at the National Track & Field Championships<\/strong>.\u00a0 Ryan also qualified in the Javelin<\/strong> and the 800m Run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ethan Goldberg<\/strong> was complete by qualifying in all four (4)<\/strong> of his Events<\/strong> (Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, & Javelin).<\/p>\n

Following in the footsteps of former Country Mills Eagles Pentathletes Kelsey Hanson<\/strong>, Shannon Lenzi<\/strong>, and Alana Burden<\/strong>, Arianna Mills<\/strong> \u00a0qualified in the Pentathlon<\/strong>, but also the Javelin<\/strong>, High Jump<\/strong>, and Discus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
