\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The setting was New Haven<\/strong>, CT<\/strong>, home to Yale University<\/strong>, with more than 1,500 Athletes<\/strong> from CT<\/strong> to ME<\/strong> to NY<\/strong> to PA<\/strong>, and every state under that umbrella.\u00a0 It was three (3) LOOOOOOOONG Days<\/strong> of 90<\/strong> degree HEAT<\/strong>, a Schedule of Events<\/strong> that, FOREVER<\/strong>, ran hours late, with NO Water<\/strong> at any venue for Athletes<\/strong>.\u00a0 In spite of the long odds for SUCCESS<\/strong>, the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> had a BANNER Weekend!\u00a0 <\/strong>By late Sunday, 13 Eagles\u2019 Athletes<\/strong> took another step on the Road to Greensboro<\/strong>, the Host<\/strong> for the National Track & Field Championships<\/strong>, where more than 10,000<\/strong> of the top Track & Field Athletes<\/strong> across America<\/strong> will compete in more than 20<\/strong> different Events<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0 Getting things off to a quick start were the Combined Event Athletes<\/strong> (Triathlon \u2013 Jae-cion, Pentathlon \u2013 Arianna, Heptathlon \u2013 Marissa).\u00a0 Jae-cion<\/strong> Boyd <\/strong>took the Gold<\/strong> in the Boy\u2019s (9) Triathlon<\/strong>, while Arianna Mills <\/strong>took Silver<\/strong> in the Girl\u2019s (11) Pentathlon<\/strong>, and Marissa Fiacco<\/strong> took Silver<\/strong> in the Girl\u2019s (15-16) Heptathlon<\/strong>.\u00a0 Each of which set a PR<\/strong>.\u00a0 Marissa <\/strong>set a new Country Mills Eagles Record<\/strong> in the Heptathlon<\/strong>, scoring 2,999 Points<\/strong>! As a Highlight<\/strong> to close in the Heptathlon<\/strong>, Marissa <\/strong>went wire to wire in the 8000m Run<\/strong> leading the entire field by more than 40m<\/strong>, posting a PR<\/strong> of 2:37.90<\/strong>, dropping 13<\/strong> seconds of her previous PR<\/strong> and just .5<\/strong> seconds from a Country Mills Eagles Record<\/strong> in the 800m Run!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Jae-cion<\/strong> DID NOT<\/strong> stop there, as he took the Gold<\/strong> in the Long Jump<\/strong>, Gold<\/strong> in the 100m Dash<\/strong>, and 4th<\/sup><\/strong> in the 200m Dash<\/strong>.\u00a0 Arianna<\/strong> followed right along with a Gold<\/strong> in the High Jump<\/strong>, Gold<\/strong> in the Javelin<\/strong>, and a Silver<\/strong> in the Discus<\/strong>.\u00a0 Marissa <\/strong>advanced by taking 5th<\/sup><\/strong> in the 4x100m Relay<\/strong> and 6th<\/sup> <\/strong>in the Javelin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> Arguably one of the Best Performances<\/strong> at the Region I Championships<\/strong> was a Gold Medal Discus Throw<\/strong> by Alana Burden<\/strong> with a PR <\/strong>at 37.61m!<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a\u00a0 A DOMINATING Day<\/strong> in the Circle!\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 One of the most intriguing Performances<\/strong> of the weekend would be that of George Krause<\/strong>, who snuck up on everyone at the Boy\u2019s (14) High Jump<\/strong> when he took a Silver Medal<\/strong> in that Event<\/strong>, clearing 5\u2019!<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n
