All of that is, I suspect, possible, but for <strong>Ryan Slingerland<\/strong> it is about <strong>Hunting Down<\/strong> the three <strong>(3) Javelin Records<\/strong>, a couple of which have stood for more than <strong>15<\/strong> years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was just the end of <strong>April <\/strong>(2022) that <strong>Ryan<\/strong> decided that he would like to learn how to <strong>Throw<\/strong> a <strong>Javelin<\/strong>.\u00a0 That was only three <strong>(3)<\/strong> months ago.\u00a0 At that point, he was as much a <strong>\u201cnewbie\u201d<\/strong> as one could possibly be.\u00a0 He was <strong>Awkward<\/strong> with the <strong>Release<\/strong>, <strong>Uncomfortable <\/strong>with any sort of an <strong>Approach<\/strong>, and <strong>Struggled <\/strong>to hold the <strong>Javelin<\/strong> straight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 As I have preached for years, <strong>\u201cPerfect Practice Makes Perfect!\u201d<\/strong>, it is <strong>ALWAYS <\/strong>the solution to better <strong>Performance!<\/strong>\u00a0 This <strong>Young Man<\/strong> couldn\u2019t get enough <strong>Practice!<\/strong>\u00a0 He would show up before <strong>Practice<\/strong> to work on <strong>Javelin Drills<\/strong>, and remain after Practice to get in his <strong>Throws<\/strong>.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t very pretty, at first, and at times was <strong>SCARY <\/strong>to watch.\u00a0 But, at the <strong>President\u2019s Open<\/strong>, he managed to get enough things right to throw an impressive <strong>33.10m<\/strong> in his first competition as a <strong>Javelin Thrower<\/strong>.\u00a0 That was <strong>June 12<sup>th<\/sup>!<\/strong>\u00a0 Just one <strong>(1)<\/strong> month later, at the <strong>Liberty Games Track &amp; Field Championships,<\/strong> he threw <strong>37.41m<\/strong>, more than <strong>4m<\/strong> further!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The <strong>Challenge<\/strong> for <strong>Athletes <\/strong>is their ability to put all of the pieces of the proverbial puzzle together when it is all on the line.\u00a0 At the <strong>National Track &amp; Field Championships<\/strong>, on <strong>August 5<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>, <strong>Ryan<\/strong> launched a bit of a <strong>Missile<\/strong>, sending the <strong>Javelin 39.57m<\/strong>, just short of his <strong>40m Goal<\/strong>.\u00a0 That toss moved him into <strong>28<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> in the <strong>Nation!<\/strong>\u00a0 With <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> Place<\/strong> being <strong>51m+<\/strong>, <strong>Ryan<\/strong> is <strong>HUNTING<\/strong> that down for <strong>2023<\/strong>, thinking that <strong>GOLD <\/strong>is a <strong>Great Color<\/strong> to hang around his neck.\u00a0 He is also <strong>HUNTING<\/strong> down the <strong>Country Mills Eagles Record<\/strong> of <strong>51.94m<\/strong> set by <strong>Anthony Mills Jr<\/strong>. in <strong>2006!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Congratulations<\/strong><strong> Ryan Slingerland<\/strong> on your ability to swallow and digest so much in such a short time!\u00a0 We look forward to <strong>Hunting Season<\/strong>, which for <strong>Javelin Throwers<\/strong>\u00a0begins in <strong>September<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For some of you, this Title may seem unusual, or it may give you reason to believe that one (1) benefit of being a Javelin Thrower is that it makes Hunting with a Spear a more viable option for putting Food on the table.
