\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I can only imagine the thoughts going through your minds as you see this Title!<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a\u00a0 For those who follow the Book Series<\/strong>, it is about a Monkey <\/strong>that finds himself, quite often, in trouble for getting involved in things he should NOT!<\/strong>\u00a0 But, his Curiosity<\/strong> has been the subject of many Books<\/strong>, and it has transcended multiple generations!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As an 8th<\/sup> Grader,<\/strong> trying to have an impact on a Varsity Track & Field Team<\/strong>\u00a0is a TALL Order!<\/strong>\u00a0 Quite often, such Athletes<\/strong> tend to \u201cFill Gaps\u201d<\/strong> on the Relay Teams<\/strong>, or be the supporting cast for a Field Event<\/strong>.\u00a0 For George Krause<\/strong> it began just like that.\u00a0 He had reasonably good Speed & Stamina<\/strong>, so it appeared that 400m<\/strong> to 1500m<\/strong> was a good fit.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Frustrated with running circles around the Track<\/strong>, George<\/strong> asked if he could try Long Jump<\/strong>.\u00a0 Never willing to place an Athlete<\/strong> in a \u201cBox\u201d<\/strong>, he worked for a couple of weeks at Long Jump<\/strong>, and was making improvements worthy of note.\u00a0 But in late May<\/strong>, he approached, rather curiously, and asked, \u201cWould it be okay if I tried High Jump?\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Given the fact that the Long Jump<\/strong> is usually the first of the Jumps<\/strong> to teach, as it is easier to pick up than High Jump<\/strong>, Triple Jump<\/strong>, or Pole Vault<\/strong>, and he had made improvements in the Long Jump<\/strong>, it was sensible to oblige.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In just two (2)<\/strong> months this small, unknown 8th<\/sup> Grader<\/strong>, who was overshadowed by High School Juniors & Seniors<\/strong>, made a decision, with his Mom<\/strong>, to be a part of the Country Mills Eagles Track & Field Team<\/strong>, so that he could continue to develop his \u201cJumping Skills\u201d<\/strong>.\u00a0 Like his Teammate Ryan Slingerland<\/strong>, George<\/strong> would be at Practice <\/strong>an hour early to work on ALL<\/strong> of his Jumping Drills<\/strong>, and stay late to work on his Jumping Form<\/strong>.\u00a0 In fact, there were times when he needed to be sent home, as he was Jumping<\/strong> for two (2)<\/strong> hours straight! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In his first HJ Performance<\/strong>, at the President\u2019s Open<\/strong> on June 12th<\/sup><\/strong>, he cleared 1.45m<\/strong>.\u00a0 Two (2)<\/strong> weeks later, at the Region I Championships<\/strong>, he took a Silver Medal<\/strong> clearing 1.50m<\/strong>.\u00a0 By the time the National Track & Field Championships<\/strong> were up in early August<\/strong>, George<\/strong> cleared 1.60m<\/strong>\u2026 as an 8th<\/sup> Grader<\/strong>, and finished 14th<\/sup><\/strong> in the Nation!<\/strong>\u00a0 It is a good thing George<\/strong> was Curious <\/strong>about High Jumping<\/strong>.\u00a0 Congratulations<\/strong>, George<\/strong>, on an EXCITING Finish<\/strong> to the Track & Field Season!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
