\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Long, Long Ago<\/strong><\/em>, In A Township Far, Far Away, lived a young girl that was not \u00a0allowed to compete on the Track & Field team, because she wasn’t a boy, and there was not a Girl’s Track & Field Team. She was faster than all of the boys on the team, but will never be remembered in the record books. Her name was Mary Elizabeth Razzano (later Mary E. Mills), and she is the Mother of Country Mills Eagles Head Coach<\/strong>, Anthony Mills. It was Knox Field in Johnstown, NY at a time when only cinder tracks were the latest innovation, and 3″ spikes held the Starting Blocks in place. Now some 55 years later, with a recently installed rubber surface track, and every marking on the track for every conceivable event, Knox Field was the host for the 2009 Adirondack Junior Olympic Championships.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0With<\/strong> overcast skies, the looming threat of rain; and for the first time in Empire State Liberty Tour<\/strong> history, no Music Man, as he was checked into the hospital that morning for the Swine Flu, the first born daughter of the Mills Clan, Mary Beth Mills (Longcoy) traverrsed more than 1,000 miles from her sunny warm Florida residence to pay tribute to the Mother of six (6) Eagles<\/strong> and two (2) Eaglettes<\/strong>, and to celebrate in her honor the Inaugural Mary E. Mills Youth Athlete of the Year Award<\/strong>, which will be presented for the first time in 2010.\u00a0 Both Courtney Richardson<\/strong> and Tim Holzhauer<\/strong> have been nominated from the Country Mills Eagles.<\/strong><\/div>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The<\/strong> next stop of the Liberty Tour<\/strong> is the Independence Invitational<\/strong>, which will be held on July 3rd at Ichabod Crane High School. It was originally scheduled to be at Bethlehem High School, but issues of Holiday help has forced the unexpected change in venue.<\/p>\n
