\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It was Memorial Day Weekend<\/strong>\u00a0at Bethlehem High School on a beautiful warm sunny day, and the perfect backdrop to celebrate the Constitution.\u00a0 More than 200<\/strong> years old, one might wonder what this country will look like when it is 400<\/strong> years old, nearly twice its current age. Will the USA<\/strong> be the world leader then that it has been for so many years? \u00a0Well, I do not know what is in store for America<\/strong> when it turns 400<\/strong>, but I can tell you that at this\u00a0Constitution Classic<\/strong>\u00a0there were eight (8) 400m records broken, which is the first time such an accomplishment has been attained in the short history of the\u00a0Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Field Series.\u00a0 <\/strong>One of the most notable\u00a0was the one set by Mitch Flanger (Pictured Above)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 from the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong>, in the Midget Boys division.\u00a0 \u201cThis is incredible, and at the same time, very exciting\u201d, exclaims Executive Producer, Anthony Mills. He adds, \u201cIt never ceases to amaze me how year after year records keep falling, just when it is thought that the previous record would be tough to beat. The exciting news is that each meet of the Liberty Tour Series<\/strong> is obviously becoming more and more competitive; and that is certainly a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At the end of the day<\/strong>, there were nearly 80 records broken, of which 10% were in the 400m Dash. There were also several new Records in the 3000m Run for many of the age divisions.\u00a0The Constitution Classic<\/strong>\u00a0is the second stop of the\u00a0Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Field Series<\/strong>. Next up on the calendar will be the\u00a0President\u2019s Open<\/strong>, which will host the Qualifying Trials for the\u00a0Empire State Track & Field Championships<\/strong>, for the Adirondack Region.<\/p>\n
