\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 1st<\/strong> decade of the Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Series<\/strong>, saw Sunny and Warm weather conditions for just about every meet.\u00a0 In fact, there were only two (2)<\/strong> meets that were ever altered (one cancelled, and one rescheduled) in that period of time.\u00a0 In addition, there have been only two (2)<\/strong> meets with Rain Delays!\u00a0 The original forecast for the 2015 Constitution Classic<\/strong> was a dismal one early in the week, and it didn’t change much, even right up to the time the 2nd <\/strong>stop of the Liberty Tour<\/strong> began.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 However, about 10 <\/strong>minutes prior to the start time of 2:00 pm<\/strong>, the rain came to a complete HALT!<\/strong> I would not say that the skies opened and the Sun came out to dry up all of the proverbial rain, but it certainly provided a Window of Opportunity<\/strong> for all of the competitors to take advantage of drier conditions, especially in the Throws, where “Water in the Ring” is NOT<\/strong> a \u00a0good thing!\u00a0 Two (2)<\/strong> guys that took advantage of such an opportunity were a couple of Eagles <\/strong>that let the implements fly.\u00a0 Battling head to head in the Open Men’s Division, although from the same Team, Lance Chase<\/strong> and Joe Castaldo<\/strong> (5th in the Shot Put at the 2013 New York State High School Championships) took 1st<\/strong> and 2nd <\/strong>respectively in the Shot Put!<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In addition, they also took the same positions in both the Discus<\/strong> and Hammer Throws<\/strong>, which was helpful in bringing the Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> into 2nd Place<\/strong> in the Liberty Tour Track & Field Team Standings<\/strong> with a total of 241 <\/strong>points, about 200<\/strong> points back from 1st Place Chatham Gold <\/strong>with 478.5 points<\/strong>. \u00a0Liberty Sports Gear<\/strong> has partnered with the Empire State Sports Council<\/strong> (ES Sports) and is offering more than $1,000<\/strong> in Gift Certificates<\/strong>, that can be used by the winning clubs for Equipment, Footwear, Team Uniforms, and more!\u00a0 The Liberty Tour Track & Field Series<\/strong> is comprised of six (6)<\/strong> events, and the President’s Open <\/strong>is next up on Saturday, June 6th<\/strong>, with a 10:00 am<\/strong> start time.\u00a0 Be sure your Track & Field club makes it to each Liberty Tour<\/strong> event, so that your Team is in the best position to earn one (1)<\/strong> of four (4) Team Prizes<\/strong>.\u00a0 The top Prize<\/strong> is worth $500<\/strong> of Liberty Sports Gear!<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Below, we wanted to capture each of the top four (4)<\/strong> Teams in the Liberty Tour<\/strong> Team Standings<\/strong> after the conclusion of the first two (2)<\/strong> events.\u00a0 Just scroll down further to catch the Thumbnails of just some of the FUN<\/strong> and EXCITMENT<\/strong> while all of these committed Athletes played around in the lovely weather on this day.\u00a0 Click the Thumbnail to view the entire photo with the caption, which includes the Team Points<\/strong> for the top four (4)<\/strong> Teams.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For all of the Results<\/a><\/strong> from the 2015 Constitution Classic<\/strong>, just click \u201cResults\u201d<\/strong> <\/a>from the navigation bar for the Liberty Tour<\/strong>.\u00a0 We look forward to seeing everyone at the President’s Open<\/strong> <\/a>at CBA (Christian Brothers Academy) on Saturday!<\/p>\n\n\t\t
