<\/a><\/p>\nThe challenge with Liberty Games<\/strong> events that are contested outdoors is that one NEVER<\/strong> knows what to expect from the weather.\u00a0 Although we began the day with a bit of rain (necessary to keep the heat down), it soon became a “Golden Day”<\/strong> (pun intended)!\u00a0 Not only was the Track & Field<\/strong> event the host for the Liberty Games<\/strong>, but it was also the Final Leg<\/strong> of the Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Field Series<\/strong>, which began on Memorial Day Weekend<\/strong>.\u00a0 The Team<\/strong> that took 1st Place<\/strong> at the Patriot’s Invitational<\/strong>, also rose to the occasion on this day.\u00a0 That honor went to Chatham Gold!<\/strong><\/p>\n According to Anthony Mills, Executive Director for the Empire State Sports Council<\/strong>, “Chatham Gold had a solid all around effective Team.”<\/strong>\u00a0 He continues, “They succeeded by attending every Liberty Tour Track & Field Series meet, and they were able to compete in multiple age divisions from Primary (6 & under) through the Master’s (35+).”<\/strong><\/p>\n Track & Field<\/strong> is the ultimate Individual Team Sport!<\/strong>\u00a0 There are more than 20<\/strong> different events that encompass nearly every form of Motor Movement Skill<\/strong>, with more than 20<\/strong> age divisions.\u00a0 One of the youngest members of Chatham Gold<\/strong> is Emilie Goodrich<\/strong>, who is just five (5)<\/strong> years old (Pictured Above)<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 She took 1st Place<\/strong> in the Primary Girl’s 100m Dash<\/strong> with a time of 24.59<\/strong> seconds!\u00a0 Fortunately, all of the points were doubled for the Liberty Games Track & Field<\/strong> event, so this young lady earned 10<\/strong> points for her Team<\/strong>, instead of just five (5)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Chatham took 1st Place<\/strong> in the Team Standings<\/strong> for the Liberty Games<\/strong> with 644 pts<\/strong>.\u00a0 In 2nd Place<\/strong> was the NY Nova Starz<\/strong> with 386 pts.<\/strong>\u00a0 Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> took 3rd Place<\/strong> earning 277 pts.<\/strong>, and the Glencadia Bullets<\/strong> were in 4th Place<\/strong> with 100 pts<\/strong>.\u00a0 The Liberty Tour Track & Field Series<\/strong> totals will be forthcoming, and announced at the Liberty Tour Banquet<\/strong> in January<\/strong>.\u00a0 Each of the Gift Certificates<\/strong> will also be awarded at that time.<\/p>\n For all of the Results<\/strong> from the Liberty Games Track & Field<\/strong> competition, just click “Results”<\/strong> from the navigation bar, and then click “Liberty Games”<\/strong> from the drop down menu.\u00a0 To follow the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series<\/strong>, as well as ALL <\/strong>of the ES Sports Annual Events<\/strong>, be sure to “Like Us”<\/strong> on FB:<\/p>\n
