Field Series!<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0 Within <\/span><strong>24<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> hours, more than <\/span><strong>2&#8243;<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> of rain fell, much of which was saved for the competitors, as an attempt, I suspect, to remain hydrated, although that was certainly <\/span><strong>NOT<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> necessary.\u00a0 Precipitation began just before the meet got underway, but did subside after the Hurdle events.\u00a0 That allowed enough time for the <\/span><strong>National Anthem<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">, and the start of the <\/span><strong>100m Preliminary Heats<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">, then it restarted in time for the 3000m Run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The sand in the <strong>Long Jump Pits<\/strong> was heavy and sticky, the level of water continued to rise in the <strong>Throwing Circles<\/strong>.\u00a0 At times one may have considered Swimming across the Circles, rather than Gliding or Spinning.\u00a0 But, <strong>Track &amp; Field IS<\/strong> contested in the rain, and as Og Mandino writes in his best-selling book, <strong>&#8220;The Greatest Salesman in the World&#8221;<\/strong>, in the Chapter entitled <strong>&#8220;PERSISTENCE&#8221;<\/strong> (Scroll III), <strong>&#8220;I WILL PERSIST UNTIL I SUCCEED!&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0 That is <strong>EXACTLY<\/strong> what <strong>Patrick Weinert<\/strong> (Open Men&#8217;s Division) and <strong>Mya Muse<\/strong> (Senior Scholastic Girl&#8217;s Division) did, as each set <strong>Hammer Records<\/strong> in their respective divisions for the <strong>Constitution Classic<\/strong>, and it didn&#8217;t appear as though the dripping weather had any effect on them as they <strong>&#8216;Hammered&#8217; <\/strong>away at the <strong>Record Books!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Rainy and wet are NOT the type of weather conditions that one envisions when setting a Record&#8221;<\/strong>, noted Anthony Mills, Executive Producer of the <strong>Liberty Tour Track &amp;
