\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 I can hear all of the phrases now, \u201cShe\u2019s too short!\u00a0 He\u2019s not BIG enough!\u00a0 She is the youngest in her Age Division!\u00a0 He comes from a small town!\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh yes, the naysayers have all of the insight when it comes to who can be Great<\/strong> and who doesn\u2019t stand a chance!\u00a0 Let it be noted that such folks are the very ones that plant the seeds of worthlessness in others, limiting what they should believe they can accomplish!\u00a0 What a Serious Disadvantage<\/strong> when starting out on this adventure known as LIFE!<\/strong> \u2639<\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Fortunately, there is usually someone, a Parent<\/strong>, Coach<\/strong>, Mentor<\/strong>, Friend<\/strong>, or an Angel <\/strong>that helps us to realize that Greatness DOES NOT<\/strong> come from a certain place, nor is it produced by a certain body type!\u00a0 \u201cGreatness comes from the Heart, Mind, and Soul of an individual!\u201d<\/strong>, exclaims Anthony Mills, the Executive Director of the Empire State Sports Council<\/strong>.\u00a0 He continues, \u201cAs a Child, I was raised understanding that we are all created in God\u2019s Image, and that He NEVER made any junk!\u00a0 Even the Founding Fathers recognized as much when forging the Constitution for America!\u00a0 If we are \u2018endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, of these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness\u2019, why should any other person determine for me what that Happiness will be, or how Happy I choose to be?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It was a beautiful Friday<\/strong> afternoon in Greensboro, NC!<\/strong>\u00a0 At 1:00 pm<\/strong> the Turbo Javelin<\/strong> for Girls 8 & Under<\/strong> began.\u00a0 At the exact same time, 1:00 pm<\/strong>, the Long Jump<\/strong> began for the Boys <\/strong>(10 years old) Division<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the Final Flight<\/strong> for the Girl\u2019s Turbo Javelin<\/strong> was Arianna Mills<\/strong>, and in the Final Flight<\/strong> for the Boy\u2019s Long Jump<\/strong> was Taydence Morrison<\/strong>.\u00a0 She is from Rensselaer, NY<\/strong>, while he is from Philmont, NY<\/strong>.\u00a0 She was the smallest Girl in the Finals<\/strong>, and ranked 26th<\/sup><\/strong> coming in.\u00a0 He was totally inexperienced when it comes to competing at the National Level<\/strong>, and was the ONLY<\/strong> one from his Team<\/strong> to make it this far. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Both came to this meet on a mission to be on the Medal Stand!<\/strong>\u00a0 Although neither one hit their PR<\/strong> on the first attempt, they both hit a PR<\/strong> to win their respective competitions!\u00a0 At that, Arianna was the ONLY Girl<\/strong> in her Age Division<\/strong> to Throw<\/strong> the Turbo Javelin<\/strong> over 18m<\/strong>, and Taydence was the ONLY Boy<\/strong> in his Age Division<\/strong> to Jump over 5m!<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 That is two (2) Gold Medals<\/strong> on the same day, at the same time by two (2) Athletes<\/strong> from the same AAU Adirondack District!<\/strong>\u00a0 I am unsure how many \u201cGreat Athletes\u201d<\/strong> (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Olympians, etc.) have come from Rensselaer<\/strong> or Philmont<\/strong>, but one thing is for sure, there is GOLD<\/span> <\/strong>in the
