Constitution Classic
John McEachen<\/p><\/div>\n

As the saying goes, \u201cRecords are Made to be Broken\u201d!<\/strong>\u00a0 This would usually create some animosity, one might think, but in reality, most Athletes<\/strong> that hold Records<\/strong>, as coveted as they are, DO NOT<\/strong> seem bothered when someone comes along to Break \u201ctheir\u201d Record<\/strong>.\u00a0 At the Constitution Classic<\/strong> of 2022<\/strong> there were Records for the Ages<\/strong>\u2026 ALL Ages<\/strong>, as a matter of fact.<\/p>\n

One of the most impressive Records<\/strong> broken was by John McEachen<\/strong> (Syracuse Chargers) who set a New Record<\/strong> in the Men\u2019s <\/strong>(50-54) 400m Dash<\/strong> with a time of 64.74<\/strong>, beating the previous Record<\/strong> of 67.84<\/strong> by more than 3<\/strong> seconds!\u00a0 That should encourage those of you that think Track & Field <\/strong>passes you by after your High School<\/strong> and College<\/strong> days! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

Constitution Classic
Derek Adams<\/p><\/div>\n

On the opposite end of the Age Spectrum<\/strong>, Derek Adams<\/strong> (Boy\u2019s 7-8) from the Schenectady Superstars<\/strong>, set a New Constitution Classic<\/strong> and Liberty Tour Record<\/strong> in the 100m Dash<\/strong> (14.08) replacing Taydence Morrison<\/strong> and Jah-sir Boyd<\/strong> (Country Mills Eagles) who set the previous Record at 14.70<\/strong>.\u00a0 Moreover, Derek<\/strong> did the same for the 200m Dash<\/strong> with a time of 30.24<\/strong> seconds, breaking Taydence Morrison\u2019s Constitution Classic Record<\/strong> of 33.40<\/strong> seconds, and Jah-sir Boyd\u2019s Liberty Tour Record<\/strong> of 31.03<\/strong> seconds.<\/p>\n

<\/p><\/div>\n

The Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> set a New Girl\u2019s<\/strong> (15-16) 4 x 100m Record<\/strong> with a time of 57.08<\/strong>, although they have a few more seconds to drop off that time to approach the Liberty Tour Record<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Brycen Haner<\/p><\/div>\n

Chatham Gold\u2019s Brycen Haner<\/strong> set a New Record<\/strong> in the Boy\u2019s<\/strong> (17-18) 1500m Run<\/strong> with a time of 4:29.50<\/strong>, passing the previous mark of 4:30.22<\/strong> set back in 2006<\/strong> by Josh Lablanc<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Melique Garcia<\/p><\/div>\n

Head Track & Field Coach<\/strong> for Watervliet High School<\/strong>, Melique Garcia<\/strong>, set a New Open Men\u2019s 100m Dash Record<\/strong> with a time of 10.91<\/strong> passing the previous Record<\/strong> of 11.78<\/strong> by Philip Sullivan<\/strong> set in 2010<\/strong>.\u00a0 So, Coaches <\/strong>can do it, too!<\/p>\n

Allison Flint<\/p><\/div>\n

Allison Flint<\/strong> (Glencadia Bullets) broke the Girl\u2019s<\/strong> (15-16) Javelin Record<\/strong> with a toss of 31.90m<\/strong> breaking a short lived Record<\/strong> set in 2019<\/strong> by Alana Burden <\/strong>(Country Mills Eagles) at 30.30m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Constitution Classic
Liberty Tour Track Meet<\/p><\/div>\n

In the Men\u2019s Open Division<\/strong>, Daniel Honsinger<\/strong> (Upstate Panthers) set a New Long Jump Record<\/strong> with a leap of 6.27m<\/strong> breaking the previous Constitution Classic Record<\/strong> of 6.25m<\/strong> set in 2007<\/strong> by Jonathan Harding<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the meantime, Daniel<\/strong> also shows proper Long Jump Form<\/strong> after take-off!<\/p>\n

In my lifetime, one of the few Records, yet to be broken, is Secretariat\u2019s 1.5 mile Record<\/strong> at the Belmont Stakes<\/strong> of 2:24!<\/strong>\u00a0 That is what the combination of Power & Speed<\/strong> can do!<\/p>\n
