She was faster than all of the boys on the team, but will never be remembered in the record books. Her name was Mary Elizabeth Razzano (later Mary E. Mills). It was Knox Field in Johnstown, NY at a time when only cinder tracks were the latest innovation, and 3&#8243; spikes held the Starting Blocks in place. Now some 55 years later, with a recently installed rubber surface track, and every marking on the track for every conceivable event, Knox Field was the host for the 2009 Adirondack Junior Olympic Championships.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; text-indent: 15px;\">With overcast skies, the looming threat of rain; and for the first time in Empire State Liberty Tour history, no Music Man, as he was checked into the hospital that morning for the Swine Flu, there was no absence of resolve for the participating athletes. One of the key highlight records of the day was a new Liberty Tour record in the Midget Girls 4x400m Relay, when the Delmar Whippet&#8217;s posted the record time of 5:36.09 (Pictured Above). With nearly 50 meet records broken on the day, it was one of the most record setting days in the short five (5) years of Empire State Liberty Tour Track &amp; Field Series events.<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The next stop of the Liberty Tour is the Independence Invitational, which will be held on July 3rd at Ichabod Crane High School. It was originally scheduled to be at Bethlehem High School, but issues of Holiday help has forced the unexpected change in venue.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; text-indent: 15px;\">For more record breaking performances, scroll down the page and witness all of the excitement of the 2009 Adirondack Junior Olympics. If you finished 1st in the 100m Dash in your age category, you have passed the first marker to being a recipient of the &#8220;Mary E.
