of WAR!&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Independence Invitational 2015<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On <strong>June 28th<\/strong>, <strong>1976<\/strong>, a draft of the <strong>Declaration of Independence<\/strong> was presented to <strong>Congress<\/strong> by <strong>Thomas Jefferson<\/strong>, and subsequently adopted on <strong>July 4th<\/strong>, <strong>1776<\/strong>, although the parchment upon which the final copy was written was not signed until <strong>August 2nd<\/strong>, <strong>1776<\/strong>, of which there were <strong>55 <\/strong>men that signed the <strong>Declaration of Independence<\/strong>.\u00a0 I am unsure as to whether any of these Men were Track &amp; Field enthusiasts, but the ensuing war with the British featured a General of War named <strong>George Washington<\/strong>, who became the <strong>1st President<\/strong> of these <strong>UNITED STATES!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In honor of the many battles that would take place over the next few years, several of which took place in the state of <strong>New York<\/strong>, the <strong>Empire State Sports Council<\/strong> would like to dedicate this article to the <strong>Weapons of War<\/strong> that have become <strong>Olympic Implements<\/strong> to <strong>Throw<\/strong> for <strong>Sport<\/strong>.\u00a0 With pleasure, the <strong>Liberty Tour Track &amp; Field Series<\/strong> makes each of these available at each event!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There are some <strong>VERY <\/strong>interesting stories behind each of these modern day <strong>Throws<\/strong>, and every implement does originate from a Weapon of War!\u00a0 Some of them are rather intriguing, especially the <strong>Discus<\/strong>, which has been traced back to Indian Warriors.\u00a0 There was some extensive research done to track each of these down, and this article would become a Track &amp; Field history book if it was assembled to post all at one time, so they will become separate texts for another time.\u00a0 Did you know that <strong>Henry VIII<\/strong> is said to have loved only one thing more than women?\u00a0 You guessed it&#8230;he loved <strong>Sports<\/strong>.\u00a0 Although <strong>Jousting<\/strong> was his favorite, he was known to throw the weights, and specifically the <strong>Hammer<\/strong>, <strong>Shot<\/strong>, and <strong>Javelin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unfortunately, we <strong>DO NOT<\/strong> have any <strong>Kings<\/strong> at the <strong>Liberty Tour Track &amp; Field Series<\/strong>, but we have provided for you a collection of the <strong>Men<\/strong> and <strong>Women <\/strong>that enjoy playing around with the <strong>Weapons of War!<\/strong> Below, we captured some of them that took part in the <strong>Independence Invitational <\/strong>.\u00a0 We hope you enjoy them, as much as we enjoyed being a part of the <strong>FUN<\/strong> and <strong>EXCITMENT<\/strong> on what was justify;\">\u00a0Just a quick note to let you know that the <strong>Country Mills Eagles<\/strong> won their second straight meet scoring <strong>187 <\/strong>points. <strong>Chatham Gold<\/strong> took <strong>2nd Place<\/strong> with <strong>158 <\/strong>points, <strong>Averill Park<\/strong> finished in <strong>3rd Place<\/strong> with <strong>122<\/strong> points, and <strong>In A NY Minute<\/strong> took <strong>4th Place<\/strong> with <strong>61<\/strong> points.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Liberty Sports Gear<\/strong> has partnered with the <strong>Empire State Sports Council<\/strong> (ES Sports) and is offering more than <strong>$1,000<\/strong> in <strong>Gift Certificates<\/strong>, that can be used by the winning clubs for Equipment, Footwear, Team Uniforms, and more!\u00a0 The <strong>Liberty Tour Track &amp; Field Series<\/strong> is comprised of six <strong>(6)<\/strong> events, and the <strong>Liberty Games <\/strong>is next up on <strong>Saturday, July 18th<\/strong>, and will begin at <strong>10:00 am. <\/strong>Be sure your Track &amp; Field club makes it to this final stage, so that your Team is in (Country Mills Eagles) gets off a toss of 12.10m to take 1st Place in the Master&#8217;s Women (35-39) division, in the Javelin Throw.\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a rel=\"attached-to-3649\" href='https:\/\/essportscouncil.org\/liberty-tour\/post\/weapons-of-war\/javelin-dr-zs-dad\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" (85-89) division with a mark of 11.60m.\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a rel=\"attached-to-3649\" href='https:\/\/essportscouncil.org\/liberty-tour\/post\/weapons-of-war\/javelin-orville\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a rel=\"attached-to-3649\" href='https:\/\/essportscouncil.org\/liberty-tour\/post\/weapons-of-war\/hammer-michael-2\/'><img
