Go East Young Men, Go East!

This Championship event comes with a $2,400 Prize Purse, providing $400 to the top Men’s and Women’s teams, along with $500 for the top Male and Female athlete in Travel Stipends to attend the USATF National Championships at Icahn Stadium. The undisputed Champion in both divisions was Conquest, with the Women outscoring 2nd Place Colonial Track Club by only 7 points, and the Men edging out Zenith Velocity by only 6 points.
USATF Adirondack will host the 2010 East Region Open & Club Championships once again, but this time with the addition of the Master’s division as well. According to Executive Producer Anthony Mills, “This will be a very exciting meet, with so many athletes from so many backgrounds providing so much talent from both years past, and present. We are eager to bring it to fruition.” Set to take place July 3rd & 4th, this two day event will also feature the Heptathlon and Decathlon, along with the Weight and Super Weight Throws. Be sure to register early, and set your calendar aside for this competitive event.

- Vanessa Martell (front right) from Brockport wins the 5000m Run in a time of 19:16.47 with her teammate Trisha Byler by her side. Trisha took 3rd. In addition, Vanessa also won the Women’s 1500m posting an impressive time of 4:57.80.
- Being both nimble and quick, Jeremy Bradley clears the winning height of 1.95m to grab 1st Place in the Men’s High Jump.
- Posting a 1st Place time of 12.39, Victoria Alexander wins the Women’s 100m Dash.
- With a toss of 34.46m Allison Bradshaw takes 1st Place in the Women’s Discus Throw, and continued her dominance in the wieght throws by winning the Shot with a Put of 11.31m.
- Michael Miller from Conquest takes 1st Place in the Men’s Javelin Throw edging out Ron McConnell by less than 1m with this throw of 55.49m.
- Tara DiLuca proves one can get better with time, as she lowers her 100m HH time about 1/10th of a second from the President’s Open, which was just enough to capture 1st Place in the event by just 2/100ths of a seond, with a time of 14.63.
- With a picture perfect handoff (which is why it is posted here) Andrew Harry from Eldorado provides the ideal exchange for teammate Adam Harris, as they took 1st Place in the Men’s 4 x 100m Relay with a blistering time of 41.01.
