Overcoming Obstacles
On a day that seemed almost perfectly designed for outdoor competition; where the sun provided the ideal spotlight for the Adirondack Championship stage, one would think that this was a day created for great performances. Instead, it was a day filled with obstacles! The good news is that, “One woman’s obstacles, can quickly become another woman’s record setting performance.”
As a future Track & Field star, Ashley Mahlmeister (Pictured Above) runs a blistering Liberty Tour and Adirondack Championship record in the Young Women’s 100m HH with a time of 14.59, breaking the previous record by nearly three (3) seconds! Utilizing that same 100m speed, Ashley also set a new Liberty Tour and Adirondack Championship record in the Young Women’s Long Jump with a leap of 5.7m, which shattered the old record by almost two (2) ft.
