SUPERSTARS’ SUPER START!

The Spring Track & Field Season, to date, has been COLD, WINDY, and RAINY! It has been a STRUGGLE to get into any sort of Performance Rhythm. Nonetheless, that was NOT the case for the Schenectady Superstars at the Patriot’s Invitational on Sunday, June 1st, at Watervliet High School! 😊

With 1st Place Finishes in the 100m, in every Age Division, from Primary (6 and Under) to Bantam (9-10), as well as the Girl’s (11-12), and 13-14, the Superstars quickly racked up Points on their way to a DOMINATING Performance at the Patriot’s Invitational!

Led by the Record Setting Performance in the 200m by Imani Pierce with a time of 27.76, a New Patriot’s Invitational Record, replacing the previous Record of 28.50 by Amanda Steenburn (Glencadia Bullets) in 2010!

In addition, their Sub-Bantam Girls (7-8) set a New Patriot’s Invitational Record in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 1:23.69, CRUSHING the previous Record (1:27.10) by the Averill Park Road Runners, in 2014!

The Bantam Boys (9-10) had their opportunity to get into the Record Books for the Patriot’s Invitational in the 4x400m Relay, breaking the 6:00 mark with a time of 5:58.75, eclipsing the Chatham Gold Record of 6:02.16, back in 2014.

With a Score of 304 Points, there is No Question that the Superstars were Super Ready, today!”, said Anthony Mills, Executive Director for the Empire State Sports Council. He added, “They left every other Team in the proverbial DUST, as no other Team scored more than 200 points!”

Fortunately, the Constitution Classic is only days away, Sunday, June 15th! One might suspect that there will be Teams seeking to improve their Gameday Performances!
