Whip-pet Good

With overcast skies, the looming threat of rain; and for the first time in Empire State Liberty Tour history, no Music Man, as he was checked into the hospital that morning for the Swine Flu, there was no absence of resolve for the participating athletes. One of the key highlight records of the day was a new Liberty Tour record in the Midget Girls 4x400m Relay, when the Delmar Whippet’s posted the record time of 5:36.09 (Pictured Above). With nearly 50 meet records broken on the day, it was one of the most record setting days in the short five (5) years of Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Field Series events.
The next stop of the Liberty Tour is the Independence Invitational, which will be held on July 3rd at Ichabod Crane High School. It was originally scheduled to be at Bethlehem High School, but issues of Holiday help has forced the unexpected change in venue.
