Are your programs for Recreation or Competition?
We feel that both are necessary for the healthy development of an individual. However, when it comes to “practice with a purpose”, the development and progression of skills comes from training. This makes our programs fall into the “Competition” phase, as recreation is fun for the moment, but demands no training or improvement of skills. From our perspective, teaching each student to develop their skills and talents to the fullest is what separates us from most other organizations. Competition in the purest form is not about doing better than someone else, it is about becoming the best one can become! If that “best effort” out performs another, then victory is welcomed with open arms, but if it is not enough to out perform another, then the other team or individual deserves the victory. From that point, we work harder in the development of skills, which will enable our team or any of our individuals to a better performance the next time.
