EAGLES are MADE to SOAR!

An Eagle learns to soar by using Thermal Currents of air.  These warm air patterns are created by the surrounding terrain.  Eagles will spread their Wings, and their Tail Feathers, allowing the wind to carry them to new heights.  Soaring saves an Eagle energy, because it does not have to flap its Wings as often.

It was certainly Warm at the Constitution Classic, and the Terrain was a Track & Field Facility built for Performance.  On this day, the Eagles soared to 1st Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings with Great Performances by many Athletes.  In addition to taking 1st Place in the Girls (15-16) Long Jump, Marissa Fiacco (Pictured Above) set a new Country Mills Eagles Record (4.53m) in that Event by toppling Meredith Cully’s previous Record of 4.28m set back in 2006.

Arianna Mills fulfilled every bit of the word “Soaring” when she flew into the Record Books in the Girl’s High Jump (11-12) clearing 1.30m, surpassing the previous Record of 1.25m set by Shannon Lenzi back in 2006.  Arianna also set a Constitution Classic Record in the Turbo Javelin with a toss of 22.25m.

Although he did not enter the Record Books, as yet, in the Long Jump, Jae-cion Boyd set a new PR in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.21m taking a commanding 1st Place finish in that Event.  Moreover, he took 1st Place in both the 100m and 400m Events.

Taking 1st Place in both the Girl’s (15-16) 100m and 200m Events was Berlinda Fleurimond.  She also set a PR in the Long Jump (4.12m).  Furthermore, she is the Start Leg of the Girl’s (15-16) 4 x 100m Relay Team, which set a Constitution Classic Record in that Event (along with her teammates Marissa Fiacco, Olivia Berkman, Ana Van Plew) in just their first competition with a time of 57.08.

Helena Rodriguez came, dangerously, close to setting the Girl’s (17-18) Record in the 800m Run, but did take 1st Place in both the 800m and 1500m Events.

Alana Burden took 1st Place in the Girl’s (17-18) 100m Dash with a time of 13.26, which just happens to be a new PR for her, too.  As a side note, Alana also set a Constitution Classic Record in the Girl’s (17-18) Discus Throw with a heave of 31.97m.
