Bob Miller

Bob Miller is a stranger to neither boxing nor to the Capital District. A graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and retired monitor of Shaker HS, Bob currently serves the boxing world as the President of Adirondack Boxing Association.  His boxing history is long and eventful and easy to research with many  online references to his career as boxer, coach, promoter and administrator.

A few highlights of Bob’s boxing history include:

Began his boxing involvement in 1958.

Opened Uncle Sam boxing Club in May, 1973 and became a trainer from that time to the present.

Manager of Pro/AM in 1977 to the present.

Became a boxing promoter from 1983 -1995; during which time he was the first promoter of Mike Tyson.

Bob’s success is also shown through the success of those he has come in contact with and developed: World Champion Verno Phillipe-WBO Jr. Middleweight; Kevin Pompey-CBC World Title Welterweight; Tony Marshall- World ranked welterweight.

Last, but not least, Bob has passed on his passion for boxing to at least two of his six children, Shannon and Shawn Miller, both professional boxers.
