CHAMPIONS PERFORM @ CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Abigail Wicks – 100m Dash
It is often used as a cliché, and quite often overused! Nonetheless, it is also quite TRUE that Champions Perform @ Championships!
On Saturday, June 18th, that rang TRUE once more as the Adirondack Track & Field Championships became the setting for Athletes to Perform as Champions!
Without a doubt the most decorated Champion was Abigail Wicks (Sky’s the Limit) who set the Adirondack Championship Record in the Girl’s (17-18) 100m Dash, as well as the Liberty Tour Record with a stunning 12.60, breaking the previous Adirondack Championship Record of 12.98 by Jacqueline Kearney in 2011, and the previous Liberty Record of 12.66 set by Kalissa Caesar in 2012!
What makes her so “decorated” you ask, she not only broke the Adirondack Championship and Liberty Tour Record in the 100m Dash, but also in the 400m and 200m Events! She torched the previous Adirondack Championship 400m Record of 1:02.27, set by Tamiah Washington just last year (2021), but toppled the Liberty Tour Record of 1:01.50 set by Kristin Steede in 2014 with a smoking time of 57.44! In the 200m Dash she broke the previous Adirondack Championship Record of 27.36, set in 2008 by Bernadette Gaffney, and the Liberty Tour Record of 26.62 set by Karen Bolouvi in 2014, with a blistering time of 25.80!

- To show that Championship Performances are NOT monopolized by the Youth, Dominick Buttner set a new Adirondack Championship Record in the Men’s Discus (40-44) with a toss of 34.41m, replacing Dan Howes Record of 31.38m set back in 2010. Moreover, Dominick also set a new Men’s Shot Put (40-44) Record with a mark of 10.82m just nudging Dan Howes previous Record of 10.26m set in 2011.
- Greyson Brown (Glencadia Bullets) put himself in the Adirondack Championship Record Books for the Boy’s (6 & Under) Turbo Javelin with a throw of 9.30m, passing Jacob Goodrich (Chatham Gold) who set the previous Record at 8.25m in 2019.
- No stranger to the Record Books, and fresh off of two (2) Records at the President’s Open, Emma Szarek (Majistics) set a new Girl’s (13-14) 3000m Record for the Adirondack Championships, and the Liberty Tour, with a time of 11:28.04 obliterating the previous Adirondack Championship time of 12:06.90 set by Shea Foley in 2010, and surpassing the previous Liberty Tour Record time of 11:48.18 set by Brianna Carter, just recently in 2018.
