Patriot’s Invitational 2015
It is a new decade for the Empire State Liberty Tour Track & Series, and that means there are several “NEW” and “EXCITING” things to set the pace for the next decade, which takes us to 2024. However, let’s NOT get too far ahead of ourselves, as I would like to enjoy 2015 first.
We started off with a “NEW” logo for each event of the Liberty Tour, began the Liberty Tour season at a completely “NEW” Track & Field facility (Taconic Hills High School), with three (3) “NEW” Teams that have never competed at any of the Liberty Tour events previously, had several “NEW” Records set, and starting in 2015, there is a “NEW” way to have your Track & Field Club earn “NEW” Equipment, Footwear, or Uniforms!
Liberty Sports Gear has partnered with the Empire State Sports Council (ES Sports) and is offering more than $1,000 in Gift Certificates, that can be used by the winning clubs for any of the above items just noted. Bridgett Bennett and her teammate, Lauren Berry (Pictured Above), wasted no time getting right to it, as they helped Chatham Gold, a growing and competitive Track & Field club, jump out to a substantial early lead in the standings by earning 262.5 points at the Patriot’s Invitational this past weekend.
The Liberty Tour Track & Field Series is comprised of six (6) events, and the Constitution Classic is up next on Sunday, May 31st, with a 2:00 pm start time. Be sure your Track & Field club makes it to each Liberty Tour event, so that your Team is in the best position to earn one (1) of four (4) Team Prizes. The top Prize is worth $500 of Liberty Sports Gear!
So, although normally we would show you several of the photos of the various performances that were Record setting, this time we wanted to capture each of the Teams that have earned at least 50+ points in the Team Standings. - Bridgett Bennett and Lauren Berry, take 2nd and 3rd Place in the Junior Girls 100m Dash, scoring a combined five (5) points of Chatham Gold’s 262.5 points, which put them in 1st Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings for 2015!

- This young Man, Gavin Warner, took 1st Place in the Primary Boy’s 100m Dash to give the Glencadia Bullets 5th Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings, with 104.5 points.

- Sitting in 4th Place, with 108 points is one of the NEW Track & Field Clubs this year, In A NY Minute. This 1st Place leap by Lily Russo in the Midget Girl’s Long Jump earned five (5) points!

- Kelley Abunaw helped Arcadia to a 6th Place finish in the Liberty Tour Team Standings by taking 1st Place int he Junior Girl’s 100m Dash. Arcadia has 54 points!

- This Sprint Horse, Nate Bruno, took 1st Place in the Open Men’s 200m Dash, as well as the Open Men’s 400m IH, to score 10 points for Dare 2 Dream, which currently holds 7th Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings with 51 points, just a tad back from Arcadia.

- The Poughkeepsie City Striders are currently holding 2nd Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings with the assistance of this 1st Place Jump by Xavier Powell in the Youth Boy’s Long Jump. The Striders have 120 points!

- One of the best individual performances of the day went to Serge Clevereaux of the Country Mills Eagles, who took 1st Place in both the Senior Boy’s 100m and 200m events, and a 2nd Place finish in the Javelin, which lifted the Country Mills Eagles to 3rd Place in the Liberty Tour Team Standings with 116 points, after the Patriot’s Invitational!

- Timothy Jeralds, also from Chatham Gold, takes 2nd Place in the Bantam Boys 400m Dash. His club currently has a 142.5 lead on the current 2nd Place Team in the Liberty Tour Team Standings.
