PRIMED FOR THE FUTURE!

          As an experienced and knowledgeable Physical Educator and/or Coach will tell you, success in any sport begins with the development of Basic Motor Movement Skills, and they are Running, Jumping, and Throwing!  “Track & Field is a GREAT opportunity to learn and develop such skills, and the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series is a playground for that development!”, exclaims Anthony Mills, the Executive Director of the Empire State Sports Council, which produces the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series.  He adds, “I am convinced that if you do a good job providing a strong base of these movements for children during their developmental years of 2 through 6, then those children are well on their way to enjoy just about any sport they decide to try, and the options are limitless!”

     In 2015 the Empire State Sports Council (ES Sports), a Non Profit 501(c)3, opened the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series to children between the ages of 2 through 5, when previously the minimum age to compete was six (6).  These are known as the Primary Ages, and in some cases there were enough of them competing at the Patriot’s Invitational, the kickoff event of the Liberty Tour every Memorial Day Weekend, that they filled all eight (8) lanes of the track!  It was even more exciting to watch them run halfway around the track, and actually remain in their lanes the entire time.  Better yet, not one of them stopped to take a break, but remained focused on reaching the Finish Line!  I was wondering how many of their Parents could even do that?

    These young Athletes (Pictured Above: Emilie Goodrich (Lane 6), Nevaeh Adams (Lane 5), Alayna Donnell (Lane 4), and Arianna Mills (Lane 3), may be in the Primary Division, but they are without a doubt, “PRIMED for the FUTURE!”
