The Constitution Offers Fair Representation

In order for “We The People” to “form a more perfect Union” it was absolutely necessary for there to be fair “Representation”.  This would allow the voices of all the people to be heard, not just a few select folks that considered themselves more important or more valuable than the others.  This fantastic document has had a few changes over more than 200 years, with the goal of allowing everyone a chance to be heard, whether in a political office, or in the case of the 2011 Constitution Classic, it was at Scotia-Glenville High School.

On a day that became the culmination of what appeared to be an uphill battle on Friday, just two (2) days before the meet, when Liberty Sports Group was notified that the Constitution Classic could not be held in Stillwater due to a lack of Certification of Insurance, which was somehow misplaced, and is forever lost in the halls of Stillwater High School.  Nonetheless, overcoming obstacles was par for the course in order for our forefathers to be free, and so it was for us to have a successful Track & Field competition for the 2011 Constitution Classic.

The forefathers knew at the time that the Constitution would need to be written with great forethought, in order for it to last for centuries to come, so it was a foregone conclusion that this was not a sprint, but a long distance run.  Two athletes that know a little something about the long haul, are Riley Grossman (Delmar Whippets), and Payton Czupil, both of which set new Constitution Classic Records in the 3000m Run in the Midget Boy’s and Girl’s divisions respectively.

To better provide you with how “fair” the “representation” was, there were Constitution Classic Records set by several Boys and Girls and Men and Women from nine (9) years old to those in their 70’s, on this day.  Just scroll down further to view the Thumbnails of just some of the Records on the day.  Click the Thumbnail to view the entire photo with the caption.
