LEAPING BULLETS!

On a day custom made for Track & Field, the Patriot’s Invitational was, once again, the host for the Kickoff Event of the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series!  At a meet filled with Eagles, Striders, Road Runners, Superstars, Bulldogs, and others, it was the Bullets (Glencadia Bullets) that came out on top.

Superman was “Faster than a Speeding Bullet, More Powerful than a Locomotive, and able to Leap Tall Buildings in a Single Bound!”  The Glencadia Bullets did much the same at the Patriot’s Invitational!  One “Speedy Bullet”, Gavin Warner, who currently holds the Midget Boy’s 100m Record at the Patriot’s Invitational took 1st Place in the 400m (1:08.62), this time, and 1st Place in the Long Jump with a leap of 4. 43m (Pictured Left).

Not to be outdone, the Girls scored well, too, as Allison Flint took 1st Place in the Long Jump (4.48m), and a 1st Place in the Javelin Throw with a toss of 18.70m (Pictured Right), good enough for a New Patriot’s Invitational Record for the Midget Girl’s Division.  Her sister, Kathryn did much the same by taking 1st Place in the Bantam Girl’s Turbo Javelin (14.30m), and a 1st Place in the Shot Put (5.25m).  In fact the Glencadia Bullets Girls took 1st Place in the Shot Put in four (4) different Girl’s Divisions! 😊

The tandem of Coltin Luckfield and Nathan Liga (Junior Boy’s Division) took 1st and 2nd in the 800m Run (Pictured Below), while Coltin also took 1st Place in the Long Jump (4.42m).

“It is critical to have Athletes score points in as many events as possible, and that includes points awarded for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place!”, stated Lisa Mills, Senior Event Coordinator for the Empire State Sports Council.  To that point, Kylie Brown took 1st Place in the 80m Hurdles for the Midget Girls, but also scored points in the High Jump taking 2nd Place with a jump of 1.27m (Pictured Below).  Jessica Flint, Assistant Coach for the Glencadia Bullets noted, This was the very first meet for some of our athletes and we are excited that each of them contributed to the overall performance of the team.”

With a Final Score of 173 points, the Glencadia Bullets take their 1st Place position in the Liberty Tour Standings to the Constitution Classic, which is Saturday, June 1st, at Herkimer High School, and begins at 2:00 pm.  For all of the Results from the Patriot’s Invitational, just click “Results” from the Navigation Bar, then Patriot’s Invitational.  Click here to Register for the Constitution Classic.
